Nowadays for those who are on a personal development journey, we are hearing about healing and past traumas as the cause of us not being where we want to be.
YET so many of us think that our past wasn’t a big deal and we pass on.
We think that traumas are huge life-shifting events so we don’t think it applies to us.
What trauma really is to me (and mind I am no therapist or doctor) is a life event when we felt hurt, abandoned, unseen and or unheard.
As a little child, we look around ourselves and we want to feel protected, loved and seen.
When we don’t have this we learn from what is and take it with us to the future and our future decisions.
It can be as simple as your parents being too busy working and not having time for quality time with you in the past.
As simple as not being invited to the birthday party.
All these events are shaping how we are feeling about ourselves and those around us.
I personally blocked so many things from my past, I didn’t want to remember, and it was not a conscious choice.
Our minds are here to protect us and so it stores deep in our minds and deep into our bodies anything that could possibly harm us.
It took me years of work (therapy, coaches, mentors) to uncover the things that I believed about myself and the world.
How can you start looking into the past and give yourself permission to feel?
Because when we feel we heal.
